There are three different types of music video's; performance, narrative and conceptual.
Narritive- a music video that has close links with the lyrics of the song.It is sometimes used to viualise the lyrics and put a story or meaning behind the song.

Performance- a performance music video is where the artist actually performs the song, whether than be a singing/dancing or playing a musical instrument.

Conceptual- a conceptual music video is one that seems not to relate to the lyrics which is what the narrative music video is like.It is usually just a series of images that link.
