CD cover Final page 4

At first I made my underground station map using different coloured lines.

I then added the logo and the names of the songs as if in place of different underground stations.

CD Cover page 2 message

Sticking to the underground theme, I decided that I wanted to do a poster on a wall as if it were found in the underground stations.

I first got my image of the wall and zoomed in and cropped where needed to make the right size for my layout.

I then took a picture of some paper to make it a more realistic feel, rather than a pure white rectangle.

Again, I cropped this image and neatened up the outside before placing it onto the image of the brick wall

I decided that the white backgrounded logo would suit this peice of work better so I added it onto the top.

I then added some lyrics to the main song of the album and left it simple but effective.

To make my CD cover, I first had to take and edit my background image.
This is the original photograph:

I then went through an editing process in order to make the photograph a far more drastic and professional-looking image.

When I had my final image that I was happy with, I edited the pictures of the actresses I will use in my Music Video.

I cut around them in order to place them onto the background in a certian way.

I placed the logo on the bottom centre of the CD case, between the two girls featured. The eye is drawn to it imedietly which is ideal for recognisation. I blurred around the edges slightly to give a more professional feel.

The next thing I did was create the title of the album:

I picked this font due to it being masculine (sans serif), I want it to appeal to both female and males, and as the band is an all male group, this font seemed appropriate.
My next thought was that it did not stand out as well as I had hoped and so, staying within my house colours, I put different sized red boxes around each letter

The making of my ancillery tasks Logo- Name of my artist CD cover

My starting point for my CD cover was to think of a eye capturing and rememerable theme, to enhance my brand identity. I created an 'underground station' theme, which I think would advantage my brand identity, considering my artists name is  Underground Heroes.

I have placed the logo onto a black square as the contrast makes a dramatic outcome.
I decided to make the logo onto a white background also, so that it could be used where it compliments best.

I started my logo by making a square black background. I then inserted a white circle with a thick red boarder. then, using the blue colour to keep in theme with a real underground sign, I created two rectangle boxes for my artist name 'Underground Heros'. I used the font 'Adobe Gothic Std B' because I thought it was a simplistic font which suited my underground theme. This font is sans serif which is masculine, this is suited well as Underground Heros are an all male band and the font would appeal to both sexes

My flatplan magazine advertisment

My CD Covers

For my draft CD cover i have set it out, as i hope it will enhance the brand identity of my artist.I achieved this by having my house colours incorporated in my CD cover. I thought this draft would be a good idear for my CD cover ,as i think it consist the correct conventions which my genre would fit into. My final CD cover image  would be a random image which normally indie/rock artists' tends to use,  the reason why i did not want to use an image of my artist is i want my band to focus there attention to appeal  to the target audience and to focus on the music not to appearance of my band. I do not want it to be that poeple would buy the album because of the what my artist looks like,i want them to buy the album as it looks random and stands out from other CD's which are white space , which look boring i want the album to reflect the bands music.

Audiences and Institutions:which institution may promote my artist/bands's music?

These are some of the few magazines which i hope would promote my artist.Overall i have chosen these magazines as i feel they focus more on the music thasn the image of the band, people who purchas these magazines want to find new bands this suits my artists perfectly as they are unsigned and would be a good leap to get them well known and to get signed.

My media product represents the social group that includes:

.Aged 15-25
. Mixed gender
.Carefree/Rebellios
.Discover new music from the internet ans social networking sites
.Open to all genres of music
.Range of taste of music; Rap, Rock,Pop
.To sterotype my target audience they would be Indie
.Lifestyle would very sociable
I am representing my social groups through confident and bold images that attract 15-25 year olds,  and have used a Sans font that promtes to a mixed gender rather than using Sans serif which would mainly appeal to the female groups.
The  price woiuld have to be reasonable as the majority of my target audience will be in school or university.
My house coulours are blue, red and white, as they represent the coulours of the underground which links to the name of my artists band. I have chosen these colours specifically to promote the brand identity of my artist  and that also it include the colours red and blue which appeal to both female and male.
The strong, fast beats in my song, also relates back to my social groups as it is the type of song that my target audience would listen whilst on public transport or walking as it very upbeat, wheras if i twas more of a slow beat song it would appeal to a much older target audience as they would listen to the song after a long day at work.

Editing

I started editing today and have edited everything i have filmed.I added various transitions between shots that looked jumpy, which i thought it was necessary to the shot and which i thought would suit me genre of music, also i had to make sure the transitions appealed to my music which was very fast and upbeat so i had to make my transitions very quick to be in time with my music.I tried to inco-orparate a mixture od editing skills, including jumpcuts, speeding up shots, slowing down shots, flipping tthe shots and changing the effect from normal to either black and white, exaggerated light(which i used a lot as i thought it was the most approriate to my band), and a cloud effect. From the lyrics the audience can understand that the song is a light hearted yet very comical about, about Indie people which is very ironic considering that the band is in the genre of an 'indie band'. The transitions I used were, cross dissolve, cross blur, cross zoom and fade to white.I used fade to white at the end transition as it fades out the shot but also finishes on a happy thought , rather than if i faded it to black it would not fit in with the restof my video, CD covers and magazine advertisment. Also i wanted the fade to white as it is one of my house colours, which will hopefully expand on my brand identity.

My Shooting Schedule

My shooting schedule helped me throughout my filming stages, it made me organised whether it be with my actors and with myself to make sure i bring the appropriate equipment and made sure i have everything i need. Organisiation is essential for when filming your music video, i think if i did not produce a shooting schedule  i do not think i would be able to produce a music video as i would not have scheduled in when and where i am going to filming and also the communication between me and my artist.

Story boards drafts

Location shots

These are my location shots which i have taken before i have started to film my music video.
I have chosen these locations as i want it to be calm and a bit mysterious, especially if i start to film during the night.
Also the brick wall with the ivy all over it, i thought it is an interesting back ground which i thought would compliment my music video as it is not to busy and jumbled, which would mean i would not have the problem with the background being to distracting from my artist.
